Process in Week3

Image
Week3 In week 3 we made some more good progress, here is an account of what we achieved: 1.  We made a good start on the Sustainability Report.  This report is due before we meet in week 4, the group intends on working on the rest of the report during the session for week 3. 2.  After discussing the issue as a group, we now collectively understood the concept of fading effect and the code for simulating the second noisy system is also completed. In our simulation, we assume that the bipolar NRZ signalling is transmitted through a long distance by tropospheric and ionospheric propagation with the effect of heavily built-up urban environment. We also assume that this is a flat fading channel and there is no dominant propagation along a line of sight. The channel power gain in this simulation is assumed to be independent of each other.  Therefore, the flat-fading channel has memoryless properties. The simplified transmission model is shown below: Figure 1: the simplified model of the bin

Week2: In the second week, There are some things what we have done: 1.we divided the tasks of the project to the group in more detail.    a). Xinlu who was the main developer of the program would focus on realizing the code this week.    b). Cameron and Ruqayyah decided to make a start on the Sustainability Assignment which ties in with this group project.   c). Jiashu and William  were focusing on writing and modifying blogs about the group project. 2. Xinlu presented the group with some problems which we can collectively look at in order to help with the development of the code. How to simulate the capacity performance of AWGN channel?  According to the Shannon theorem, the channel capacity of AWGN channel is:   How to deal with the bandwidth to get a plot of channel capacity as a function of SNR? 3.  We had made some progress about problems at the meeting on Friday. Since the channel capacity depends on the bandwidth and the SNR, we assumed that B=1 to obtain a figure of the channe

Introduction: Due to the impact of the pandemic, it was suggested by the department that all group projects this year were to be based online, the project that we were assigned required us to conduct experiments and operations on MATLAB. This project will simulate the noise in wireless communication, create some methods to reduce the noise, and analyse the performance of the noise system. Main purpose: The main purpose of the project is to analyse the performance of two noisy systems. The first one is the system transmitting bipolar and unipolar NRZ signalling through a channel with additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) in presence only. The second one is the system transmitting signalling through a channel with both AWGN and fading effect . Objective: 1.  Have a general ideal about the definition of additive white Gaussian noise and the two kinds of common line codes used in digital baseband transmission. (which are unipolar NRZ and bipolar NRZ codes) 2.  Understand the ways of evaluat
